A winemaker for years,‘for other people…’ as he puts it, Walter Bressia has spent decades quietly accruing relationships with growers and has emerged with an eclectic portfolio from six sites that, he believes, represents the very best of the region. Walter Bressia and son Walter, are crafting their own very compelling expressions of the region. These are intensely personal wines. There’s a kind of secrecy to their source, you can visit the vineyards and they are indeed impressive, gnarly old things, beautifully tended, but there is alchemy back at the bodega. Walter’s fabulous finds have been spun into wines of depth and character.
