Inspiring Wines was at The Foodies Christmas Food & Drink Festival last weekend kicking off our countdown to Christmas.
We had a great weekend at Tatton Park in Cheshire, there was so much on offer and we met some truly amazing people. We also managed to sell a bit of wine which is always good!
The weekend kicked off on Friday evening at 5pm and although the evening session was a little quieter than the following days it was a great way to ease into the festival and gave us a chance to meet some of our fellow exhibitors and check out all the great food & drink on offer.
Saturday & Sunday proved much busier and there were loads of great people dropping by our stand for a chat and to taste some lovely wines. We only had a small range on offer as space was limited on the stand as you’d expect but what we had went down very well.
All the wines we had available to taste were received very well but particularly popular was Big Top Zinfandel, El Infiernillo Pinot Noir and Percheron Chenin Blanc Viognier. We also had a lot of great feedback on Turno de Noche Malbec, Mendoza Valley which, unfortunately was in limited supply and in fact, we had sold out of by the end of Saturday. We’ll certainly be seeking out some more of that for future events.
The overall preference seemed to lean towards red as you’d expect at this time of the year but there were also some white drinking stalwarts enjoying the classic Sixty Clicks Sauvignon Semillon and our Underworld Grenache Blanc brought off the bench for day two when we were getting low on some of the other wines. We even sold a couple of bottles of the sublime Nyetimber Blancs de Blancs 2007, bought as a treat for Christmas day.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all the people who dropped by and said “hello” we very much enjoyed making many new friends and we hope to see some of them again at the next Tatton Park Foodies Festival in 2018.
Our next outing is the weekend of the 25th & 26th November at Rufford Abbey Christmas Market in Nottinghamshire. If anyone is planning to come along to that be sure to come by our stall and say “hello”. More about that in next weeks blog. For more information take a look at:
If not, we will see you at a festival in 2018!
