A stunning wine with pure berry fruit, well integrated oak and just a touch of red pepper. Intense blackcurrant on the palate, lifted by menthol, vanilla, spice, chocolate and coffee. Concentrated with a savoury twist on the finish; fine with great varietal typicity.
The 2010 does not shy away from expressing the grape variety on the nose, with those lovely bell pepper notes augmenting the rustic black fruit profile. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, vibrant red berry fruit and a nicely composed Loire-meets-Argentina finish. This is a superb take on the grape variety. Drink before 2018. 92 points.
