Chassagne Montrachet ‘Morgeot’ Louis Latour
Though the colour is a delicate pale gold, this Premier Cru has an intense nose of floral aromas, toasted bread and a touch of oak. Fat and rich, this wine reveals a mineral finish along with a lasting persistence in the mouth. The wines of Chassagne Montrachet offer great value due to their relatively unfashionable image when compared with their direct neighbours at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The wines are fat and exotically fruity. Morgeot is a perfect example of these wines and has a warm, tropical appeal that is hard to rival. A fresh, chewy richness precedes an opulent finish. Louis Latour Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation with 8 to 12 months ageing in oak barrels (30% new oak).
